Warranty of Re-manufactured and Compatible Products

All of our remanufactured and compatible products come with 1 year warranty. All these products manufactured by ISO and STMC certified facilities and warranted to be free of defects in both materials and workmanship.

What`s STMC ?

STMC stands for Standardized Test Methods Committee. This global committee was formed to find and promote standardized test methods for the printer cartridge industry. Standardized test methods are defined from ISO, ISTA, and ANSI standards. A company that is STMC certified is one that has had their employees successfully trained by an authorized trainer in these test methods, attests to using these test methods, and has purchased the correct test equipment. By purchasing STMC certified products you can be assured that you will receive the highest levels of performance, reliability and quality with each cartridge.

Warranty of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Products

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) printer cartridges are products that are manufactured directly by a brand name company, like HP or Canon, and have the manufacturer brand name directly on the product packaging. If you purchase your printer cartridge from a retail web site, OEM or brand name cartridges are typically sold side-by-side with non-brand cartridges, typically called "compatible" or "remanufactured" cartridges, which are typically much less expensive than their brand name counterparts.

The warranty process for OEM cartridges is completely different from compatibles or remanufactured cartridges, which are typically warrantied by the retailer. With OEM printer toner and inkjet cartridges, the warranty is provided directly from the manufacturer. Your retailer will ask you to contact the manufacturer directly if you need to replace a defective OEM cartridge that is still under warranty. The retailer has no choice on this matter, these rules are established by the manufacturers themselves.

Unfortunately, sometimes the manufacturer may be reluctant to provide warranty service on a product that was not purchased directly from them, but this does not change the warranty, and the manufacturer has an obligation to fulfill its warranty regardless of where the product was purchased.

In order to receive warranty service for an OEM product, use the contact phone number listed on the cartridge or on the original product packaging. Have the serial number of your machine ready, if possible, as many manufacturers will ask for it in order to verify the product's warranty. Below is a list of contact information for popular manufacturers, and the typical warranty period for their products.

What’s the difference between OEM, Compatible, and Remanufactured?

OEM is an abbreviation for "Original Equipment Manufacturer". When you see a product described as OEM it is a new "name-brand" cartridge from Canon, Epson, Hewlett Packard, etc.

Compatible Cartridge - This is a brand new cartridge made with new plastics and parts. It is designed to meet or exceed the OEM specifications and high standards of quality. It is 100% brand new and economically priced compared to expensive name-brand cartridges. Using compatible generic replacement cartridges will not void your printer warranty. We carry many 100% new compatible imaging supplies: Brother laser/fax cartridges, thermal fax rolls, Media Sciences solid ink and color cartridges for many of the popular color printers. We also have Pitney Bowes, Canon and Brother inkjet cartridges, copier toner, and ribbons.

Remanufactured Cartridge - A cartridge that has been recycled to meet or exceed OEM specifications. Most cartridges use a "virgin OEM core" (an OEM cartridge that has not been remanufactured) and has 70-80% new parts including a new long life drum. The remanufacturing and recycling process involves collecting, disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, reassembling and filling the virgin OEM cartridge with ink or toner. We ensure that all our remanufactured cartridges are filled to the highest capacity during the remanufacturing process. We carry a variety of remanufactured ink and toner cartridges for HP, Dell, Lexmark, Epson, Xerox and Canon printers.

Because of the intellectual property rights (IP) of certain manufacturers such as HP, Dell, and Epson, it is ILLEGAL to sell compatible cartridges made from these manufacturers which is why we sell remanufactured cartridges instead of compatible cartridges for these brands. We comply with all of the necessary IP laws and do not sell patent infringing products.

Will these items void my printer’s warranty

The United States Government does not allow manufacturers to void the warranty. The MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY IMPROVEMENT ACT protects you. The basic overview of the ACT is that a manufacturer of a printer you are using cannot void your warranty because you use a cartridge or refill kit manufactured by someone other than the printer manufacturer. This prohibition includes use of compatible cartridges, clip-ons, continuous feeding mechanisms, refill kits, ink, etc.
